Hey there, I'm Tan

the Man with a Mission

About Me

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better!

Born in New Mexico who grew up in California, I'm a curious, self driven UX designer who is passionate in emerging technologies, advocating UX design across all fields of work, facilitating design education, bridging diverse communities, and being a role model for illustrators, artists, & designers looking to grow in their careers. Learning together is the biggest superpower we can do to drive change. my passion for helping others comes from the guidance my mentors and design community have given me.

When I'm not doing UX magic, I enjoy traveling, studying & conversing some Japanese ( at a basic conversational level, can't get into the more sophisticated subjects ) engaging in a variety of games, comics, movies, shows, documentaries & social commetaries. I'm a firm believer that art should be expressed as how the artist intended it to be and should not be altered, censored, or taken out of context to fit a narrative or objective that was never the intention of the artist. I aim to assist in making the user experience much more fluid and natural for fellow illustrators, comic book artists, animators, & video game developers & teams that put in that extra love & passion.

Life just comes & goes, tomorrow never knows.

When I'm not doing UX black magic......

I like doing photography, travelling, & enjoying a variety of entertainment mediums. Here's some of the stuff I love taking photos of:

Learn from the past, reflect on the present, strive for a greater future. Never accept censorship & stagnation.

Started off with basic graphic design, messed around with some code, & now spear-heading into UX Design

A somewhat somber yet humorous saying as of late is that the 20's of one's lifetime is the tutorial levels of life. Personally, that quote could not ring any truer from my experience on finding out what I wanted to do with my life, career, & interacting with communities that I enjoy. Ultimately, I did a roundabout & found myself with UX Design.

Why UX Design?

Recent events & various ongoing factors on a personal level have been making me more & more interested in utilizing desingn to mitigate user experiences issues by strategically creating designs with the user in mind for a pleasant experience from a variety of products. As if that reason along wasn't enough, Covid-19 definitely messed things up on a worldwide, unprecedented level, leaving me to decide that I needed a better position in life.
